High Performance Benchtop Refractometer Used by a Glove Manufacturer for Quality Assurance
Our Customer’s Needs
A glove manufacturer in Malaysia requires a high performance benchtop refractometer for their quality assurance. They need to test the concentration of acid (nitric acid) and alkali (sodium hydroxide) used for cleaning the glove formers.
In the future, the Quality Assurance department of this glove manufacturer also plans to test the total solid content of latex which is the main component of a glove. Besides that, they are also planning to test the chlorine concentration where the gloves will be dipped in for easy wearing.

Muser recommended the Abbemat Performance Plus 550 Digital Performance Refractometer, a digital benchtop refractometer by Anton Paar, to the user. This is due to their requirement for high reading resolution, high accuracy and built-in Peltier temperature control.
Our Product Specialist, Nicole Tham, has successfully installed the Abbemat Performance Plus 550 Digital Performance Refractometer at the user’s site in June 2022, and conducted product training for the user which was accompanied by Anton Paar’s Engineer.
Refractometer?
A refractometer measures the refractive index or concentration of a sample. These measurements can be used to characterize liquid and solid samples. Knowledge of the refractive index allows you to control the quality of multi-component mixtures and check samples for purity.
