The digital salt-meter, ES-421 employs a funnel-shaped sensor section (conductivity), which measures the salt % of a sample, such as dilute solution of soy sauce, ketchup,mayonnaise, Worcester sauce, sqeezed juice of pickles, etc.
Only very small sample needed, where approximately 1.0mL is enough for measurement.
The NaCl solution for calibration is different from the solution used for the former ES-421 (Cat.No. 4210). The concentration of the NaCl solution for calibration has been changed from 2.84%→2.50%.

A potato chips manufacturer
Salt is sprinkled on fried potato slices from a machine, and the amount of salt dispensed is checked and adjusted at the beginning of a production lot. In the past, we had to take samples to the lab for testing, but now we can do it right at the production line.
